Close The Loop Caribbean

Carbon Project Development

Through our carbon project development services, Apala Group supports Close The Loop Caribbean (CTL), a consortium of emerging leaders in climate change, carbon offsets, environmental regeneration, and community empowerment across Trinidad & Tobago and the wider Caribbean region.

Within this scope of services, we offer CTL strategic guidance on funding, structuring, and executing their reforestation and composting projects in Trinidad, with the goal of scaling these efforts across the Caribbean. Our work includes feasibility studies to assess carbon project potential, evaluations of existing carbon standards to determine the best fit, and the design of funding models that align with project characteristics and corporate demand for carbon credits. We also provide the CTL team with guidance throughout the project registration and certification processes.

Given the Caribbean’s limited history of successful carbon initiatives, Apala Group’s support is instrumental in breaking new ground and setting a precedent for sustainable carbon project development in the region. This partnership helps position CTL as a pioneer in Caribbean-driven climate solutions, going beyond carbon benefits to cater to the region’s unique sustainability challenges and drive meaningful impact for its sustainable development.

In supporting CTL’s efforts, Apala Group lays the groundwork for turning carbon projects into a viable, scalable tool for climate resilience and economic opportunity in the Caribbean – building a strong foundation for long-term impact and paving the way for others to follow.
